LOUISE JANNETTA
"Offering a shifting lens, Jannetta’s work beautifully bridges the internal world of human connection and the external world of the environment."

Intense curiosity is deployed in an uncompromising and explorative creative journey.

Louise Jannetta's practice investigates the relationship between material transformation, perception, and systems of classification. Through painting, printmaking, sculpture, and mixed media, she explores how meaning emerges from encounters between matter, language, and lived experience.

Abstract | A Tactile Excavation

These works dig deep into the texture, chaos, and pattern of our metaphysical and pragmatic experience. Subtle, quiet, and discreet, the image is fixed into your memory—no shouting or baiting, just a quiet, experiential nudge.

Figurative | Haptic Memory

This work extends the exploration of medium ingrained in imagery and haptic memory. Deeply empathetic to line and form, the stark representation of these figures belies a sensitive observation, allowing them to graciously dance with pragmatism.

Landscape | The Passing Light

The zeitgeist of the now and the direct environment are absorbed into the work. Creating from a space of quiet isolation on the edge of large urban and post-industrial conurbations, Louise has immediate access to both the wild Derbyshire moorlands and the intensely green vegetation of the Derbyshire Dales. The landscapes produced capture the fleeting moments of passing light and the haunting memories of this highly protected national parkland.
