Collagraph Plates and Printing

A collagraph print is similar to an etching. The plate is made up of collage, a variety of materials which have been glued onto a firm plate. The plate is inked using the intaglio method, leaving the recessions or indentations to hold the ink so that it will print when passed through the press with dampened paper. There is always a lovely surprise when the paper is lifted from the plate to reveal the results.
